Budding Entrepreneurs

College life for most youngsters is about chilling and having fun but here we have a set of budding entrepreneurs amongst us from the school of communication, GRD. These ambitious youngsters are willing to tread on unfamiliar ground and learn the ropes of business and money making the hard way.

“Its not just about making money, we are more interested in the learning experience.” says Narayana from ‘Creative Souls’. A group of seven headed by Narayana came together to form this company which undertakes advertising, designing, marketing, corporate films and photography, where photography is Narayana’s main area of expertise. “Unlike other traditional companies we require 0% investment but will get 100% returns.” This group feels their creative and fresh ideas will definitely make a mark in the advertising field. As I speak to Narayana his voice exudes a confidence of succeeding and making it big. Creative souls have undertaken a few projects for Hosiery World, Digital camera service centre and also for an industrialist from Karakuddi.

‘Ingenius hub’ – as the name suggests is a group of four boys whose interests are in designing. These young men are known for their ingenuity and creativity. Ashwyn, Junaid, Suneet and Sibin aspire to reach the levels of O&M, India’s well known and recognized advertising agency. Their interests vary and it is this fact that glues them. Ashwyn specializes in print media; Suneet is an expert at ‘grunge art’, which is an abstract form of art while Sibin handles the 2-D animation and Junaid focuses on 3-D animation. “Ingenius hub took shape barely two months ago,” says Ashwyn, “and yet we have completed assignments with Karanuya blood donors association and leather foot.” Ashwyn being a skilled photographer also undertakes photography assignments under the name Ingenius hub.

From birthday parties to corporate events you name it, Sphinx events will be there to organize and conduct it. You can sit back and relax and leave the responsibility to this young and determined group. “We, Sphinx managers want to be recognized not as individuals but as a working, successful and delivering group.” says Faiz Yousuff, team leader, Sphinx events. Faiz along with nine other friends kick started this company late February ’08. “Our aim is not only to excel as students but also as promising entrepreneurs of this day and age.” Sphinx events not only under takes event managing but also designing, photography, video graphy and editing. Faiz says, “Our group has members from different backgrounds and that is our strength. We have people specializing in editing, while some others in photography and so on.” They hope to establish themselves so they need not worry and fret once they graduate from college.

Whether their interests lay in photography or designing or event management, these youngsters are motivated to work. They have the potential and willingness to perform and stand up to their responsibilities. These budding entrepreneurs will definitely go a long way if they keep the momentum and flow going.
