Interview of Manish Kumar Singh,Secretary Aaruush'09
1. How successful is Aaruush ‘09 according to you ?
Ans: In Aaruush’09, the audacity and resilience of all the 19 organisers were at stake. We tried our level best to content all the participating and non participating students to our level best. This was the process we opted for brand building of Aaruush’09. We delivered in all most every section and thus, made the environment much conducive. Overall, it was a very successful fest.
2. What were the areas in which you think you were better than Aaruush ‘08?
Ans: Comparing the two fests won’t be proper. Atleast, I cannot do it because I too played many roles in Aaruush’08, but had a very clear view over certain department which had scope for improvement. Technicality of events, no of events, workshops, guest lectures, sponsorship amounts, information in more than 77 countries and every state of India are certain sections were we tried to improve.
3. How do you think you would have done better this time?
Ans:A little more time in our hand could have really made a lot of difference. But then, I think our team did pretty well as we had full support from management, faculty and the student body. I thank them all for their sincere support.
4. How did you go about organizing the whole fest?
Ans: I think creating perception is what brand building is all about. It surely was a daunting task for us initially. In spite of it, we tried to convince the corporate haunchos and the student body to have faith on the system of Aaruush’09 as we followed the simple strategies of... planning----organising----staffing----directing----controlling----and grooming leaders for tomorrow. We tried to follow it to our very best.
5. What were the new initiatives taken in Aaruush ‘09?
Ans: Multiple initiatives are still under incubation and organisers are themselves looking at them for proper sustainability. Soon chapters could be seen in the campus of SRM. Many new things, as in global reach of the fest to 77 countries, industrial exhibitions, guest lectures, workshops, more than 7000 registrations including online etc were few things seen in this fest.
6. What suggestions would you like to give to the organizers of Aaruush in subsequent years?
Ans: We need to be savvy. Think global and plan early, have a clear vision, reach in small steps towards it and bury all the competition in upcoming years..
