THE Women Staff Association of S.T.Hindu College organized a two day National Seminar on Women in Management: Leadership and Capacity Building at S.T.Hindu College, Nagercoil on 7th and 8th of August 2009. There were altogether 200 participants belonging to various colleges and universities through out India. The South Travancore Hindu College situated at the heart of the town was established in the year 1952 with a view to promoting the cause of higher education in Kanyakumari District. It is a co-educational institution affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and approved by UGC and ALCTE New Delhi. The institution has been recognized and accredited with B+ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Committee, offering 14PG, 13UG and 10 M.Phil. Programmes. The college further has been enriched with 6 Research Centres. Propelled by its Mission and Vision, the college aspires to emerge as one of the top institutions in the district and the university.
The overall objective of the Seminar was to promote and develop women in management and gain empowerment. The distinguished personalities and resource persons who participated in the inaugural function and six other sessions of the seminar represented various colleges, universities and research centres.
